Our adventure begins in the sacred valley of the Incas, in the town called Piscacucho or Km 82 where we will see beautiful archaeological complexes, experience various microclimates along the way and we will find different height levels on the way to reach the great complex. from Machu Picchu.
Our adventure starts around 4:30 am. Where our transport. private will drive us to the town of Ollantaytambo located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where you will have an estimated time of 45 minutes to have breakfast. (Not Included) Then we will arrive at Piscacucho or Km 82. Starting point of the Inca trail.
The first section is considered of slight difficulty, we will walk along the most important river of the sacred valley called Urubamba and we will have a view of the first archaeological complex called Kanabamba. This 2nd day is the most challenging and the longest. That is why we will start very early. We will wake up with an infusion of coca leaf and then start our day.
We will continue the ascent through the cobbled road and in a winding way until we reach the pass called Warmi Wañuska (dead woman’s pass) located at 4,215 meters above sea level. Where we will have a short break to appreciate the beautiful landscape, and then begin the 2-hour descent. Approx. To get to the point where we will taste our lunch called Pacaymayo. After a short break we will start the 2nd ascent to the 2nd pass called Runkurakay 3,900 masl 1 hr and 30 min approx. to then descend and explore a beautiful complex called Sayakmarka where we can see our next camp, which is 30 min. called Chaquicocha.
Our second day will be the strongest, and the longest, we will pass through 2 passes of Warmi Wañuska 4,215 meters above sea level. And Runkurakay 3,900 masl. Our walk will last approximately 8 hours. Our second Chaquicocha camp is the highest, where you will have a spectacular view of the valley and enjoy a beautiful sunset.
We will wake up with the first rays of the sun to enjoy the beautiful sunrise, also enjoy our breakfast, and then start our walk that will be lighter. The first part we will make a slight ascent to reach the first archaeological complex of the day called Phuyupatamarka, where we will have time to explore and receive historical information about the place from our professional guide.
From this point we begin the descent of 2hrs. 30 min. Approx. To get to the second complex called Intipata where you can have a beautiful view of the Urubamba valley and you can also see our next camp called Wiñay Huayna which is 30 min.
After our lunch we will have time to rest, and in the afternoon we will go to the third archaeological complex called Wiñay Huayna, which is 5 min. From the camp where you will have a guided tour by our professional guide.
The third day will certainly be a short day, we will walk 4 hours. approx. in order to have enough time to visit the complexes along the way and, most importantly, to be able to recover energy for the most important day, which is, without a doubt, the visit to Machu Picchu.
This day in the afternoon after dinner we will have a farewell ceremony, the last day the family will be divided, that is, the group made up of cooks and porters will take another path to return to Cusco. And the view of Machu Pichu will be in charge of the guide.
The wake up will be very early 3:30 am. Where we will have a box breakfast and we will go to the control point, to then walk towards the Inti Punku where we can have the first view of one of the wonders of the Machu Picchu world, here we will begin the descent until we reach the complex, where they can take the most beautiful photos of the citadel.
