Our porters will carry your heavy bags and you will only have to bring a small personal backpack (with personal items you may need such as a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, insect repellent, waterproof camera with extra batteries and extra chargers for your phone or portable electronic devices).

An Amarutrek representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 AM. If you are staying in the Sacred Valley, we will pick you up from your hotel between 6:00 and 6:30 am. Then, we will go to kilometer 82, this place is known as Pisqacucho. We will meet our cook and porters at this place before starting the trek. The first step is to pass the checkpoint; please make sure you have the original passport in use at the time of booking with us.

We will walk for approximately 3 hours until we reach the archaeological site of Patallacta, this place was an old Inca checkpoint and from here we will have magnificent views of the “Nevado de la VerĂ³nica”. Then, we will continue for 2 more hours to Hatunchaca, where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will hike for another 2 hours to reach our first camp, Ayapata (3,300 m/10,826 ft), where we will arrive at 5:30 p.m. m. Your tents will be ready for you, dinner will be served at 7:15 p.m.

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred from site to site by a private Alpaca Expeditions vehicle.
You must have the tourist ticket to enter Moray. The tourist ticket is currently 70 soles for a one day ticket or 130 soles for a 10 day ticket. This one ticket will give you access to many other locations in the Sacred Valley, as well as some museums and places of interest in Cusco. Maras is a separate ticket of 10 soles.
There are no meals served during this tour. You should be back in Cusco in time to enjoy lunch on your own.
